Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken, coming to St. Louis
As reported last week in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Memphis-based Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken will be opening a St. Louis Location in late Spring. In Sorkin's Directory of Business & Government (a terrific database available at you public library and on our website) it's confirmed on their business leads for February 9-23rd, 2015, with a location of 8343 Manchester Ave., just east of downtown Maplewood. Hooray for this business development!

Start Something: Doing Good while Doing Well: Want to start
a business with high social as well as financial returns? One where you can do
well for yourself while doing good for others? Join us for coffee and a light
breakfast and learn about the growing field of social enterprise from Chris Miller, CEO of the Mission
Company L3C, and a panel of experts who have helped social entrepreneurs
grow. Find out what it takes to get
started, how some local social entrepreneurs have earned success and where you
can go for more information and advice.

project director for Legal Services of Eastern Missouri’s Community Economic
Development Program, and Fred Domke, founder
of Bridge Bread, a social entrepreneurship initiative designed to help
homeless persons be productively employed and a 2014 winner of the Youthbridge
